Lillian Grant...Hot Male!

Hello readers and friends! Are your bellies full? Have you heard "Jingle Bell Rock" one too many times? Need a diversion that has nothing to do with tinsel and gravy?

Well, do I have the thing for you!

Lillian Grant, my pub buddy at Liquid Silver Books, and fellow author at Love, Lust and Laptops is here! I am so excited. Lillian is an awesome lady who knows how to write hot, funny books. She has been known to reduce people to tears because they are laughing so hard, or gasping over her hot men. She's here to tell us about her newest, so hold on tight!

Lillian is giving away a copy of her Happy Birthday, Nancy Tobin to everyone who comments and a copy of Hot Male to one lucky person, so be sure to leave a comment with email address!

Fill your boots, or maybe your stockings

As much as I love the fat man coming to my house and leaving me gifts, this Christmas has been special for a whole other reason. While the world unwrapped presents, drank too much booze, ate too much food and fell asleep on the sofa whilst listening to the Queen’s speech, or is that just at my house, I was busy admiring my latest release.

There is something magical about having your book come out on Christmas Day. Not Christmas Day I hear you say but Christmas Eve surely. Not for me. I live in a time warp and hit Christmas way ahead of most of the rest of the world. So, by the time Liquid Silver Books hit the publish button I was well into the Christmas spirit. Turkey roasting, despite the heat wave outside, wrapping paper strewn all over the house and bubbly flowing to toast the season and release number eight for me, Hot Male, Reigning Men Volume Three.

Now that the excitement has died down a little and the gifts are all done, how about a present from me. Would you like a hot male Irish Stripper in your stockings? Or perhaps you would prefer him to fill your boots. Either way leave a comment below and you could win a copy of Hot Male, and just because I can, everyone who comments will get a free copy of one of my backlist, Happy Birthday, Nancy Tobin.

Happy Holidays,

Lillian Grant

Hot Male blurb:

One man. One sensual dance. One night only to prove his love.

Michael wants Maggie. Maggie has Sam. Two’s company, three’s a crowd.

Years ago, Maggie tried to seduce Michael Monaghan, only to have her efforts rebuffed. Now she’s older, wiser, happily in love with Sam Stephens, and determined to keep her distance from Michael.

Michael Monaghan, hot male stripper, has all manner of women falling at his feet, except Maggie.  All he can do is watch from afar as Sam Stephens wins the heart of the one woman he really wants.

Sam Stephens is just tired of Michael watching Maggie’s every move.

Now there’s trouble with a capital T! Maggie’s Great-Aunt Maud has run off to Ireland with Michael’s Uncle Declan. Maggie needs to get to Aunt Maud and talk some sense into her before Declan’s gun-totting wife catches up with them. With Michael and Maggie off to Ireland together, Sam isn’t about to be left behind.

Tracking down the runaway lovers is complicated by the coldest winter in Dublin in years. With Michael, Maggie and Sam stuck in a house with only one bedroom, simmering sexual tension starts to boil over.

Michael wants Maggie. Maggie isn’t sure what she wants. Sam just wants to punch Michael in the nose.

Two’s company; three could be something else altogether.

Hot Male Excerpt:

Prologue
Shannon scowled at the glasses with the stupid colored umbrellas as Pete placed them on her tray. Thursday was her night off. They never opened on Thursdays. She had plans to visit a club in one of London’s less seedy areas, and she was an exotic dancer not a fucking waitress.
Pete put the last drink down. “Table eight.”
“It won’t work.”
He leaned on the bar and leered at her boobs before running a finger along the edge of her skimpy bikini top, teasing the edge of a barely covered nipple. “We’ll see.”
She shifted out of reach. Pete disgusted her, and the more she resisted the more he seemed to want her. Not that it stopped him trying to whore her out to customers. She didn’t do sex for money, and she didn’t do sex with Pete, period. Fortunately, she pulled a big enough crowd that he wouldn’t dare get rid of her for refusing his gross seduction techniques. “Women won’t pay to see men take off their clothes.”
Pete glanced over her shoulder. “You want to tell them that?”
“You let them in for fucking free.”
“They’re paying for drinks, aren’t they? Or they would be if you’d fucking deliver them. Chop, chop. The show’s about to start.”
“I bet you’ve got some ugly old bloke with shriveled bollocks who won’t even flop his sad dick out.”
Pete laughed. “You’ll see. Now move it.”
Shannon delivered the drinks with a forced smile on her face, and then scooted to the back of the room to join Lisa who was already slacking off. The brunette passed Shannon a cigarette and lit it for her before blowing smoke rings. Shannon inhaled deeply and sighed as the nicotine hit her bloodstream. “Have you seen the hired naked dick?”
Lisa shook her head. “Nope, Pete’s had him under wraps. Rumor I heard was that he’s foreign and he’s never taken his clothes off in front of an audience before.”
Shannon giggled. “Oh God, this could be a right laugh if he gets stage fright. His dick’ll shrivel up. We’ll need a magnifying glass to find it.”
Pete came to stand behind them, and Shannon edged away as his fingers brushed her arse. The lights dimmed and the room was plunged into darkness. A hush fell over the crowd and then a deep guitar wail filled the air. A single spotlight hit the stage. Shannon’s stripper pole had been transformed into a lamppost. As the strains of Gary Moore’s Parisienne Walkways mesmerized the crowd a barefoot male stepped into the light, resplendent in top hat and tails, with a cane and gloves completing his ensemble. He lifted his head to reveal shoulder-length dark hair, chiseled features and full lips. He gave off an air of sexy disinterest at being the center of attention. His dark eyes scanned the crowd as he tossed the cane to someone offstage and then grabbed the lamppost with one hand and spun around in a twirl so low his hair almost brushed the timber floor.
Women yelled and whistled as he danced in front of the pole and began to remove his clothes. His hips moved in time with the music and the lamppost all but became his lover as his gloves, jacket, shirt and pants were tossed aside. He slid his hands over his body. Shannon’s skin warmed and her nipples pebbled as she imagined him touching her like that.
Standing in only a top hat and G-string, he moved to the music with a grace that made Shannon catch her breath. He was six-feet tall, studly and bad boy fucking awesome. When the guitar wailed on a single note the stripper stopped, dropped his head, and held his hat in front of his crotch. The air rippled with tension and Shannon licked her lips as she wondered if he would really go the full monty. As the note ended he tugged his G-string off, and Shannon held her breath. The song and the room fell completely silent for a heartbeat, and when the guitar riff echoed around the room he flipped the hat into his right hand and rolled it up his arm to land perfectly on his head. He spread his arms wide and tipped his head back to give all the ladies an eyeful of his junk. Shannon wasn’t the only one to wolf whistle.
Lisa coughed on her drink. “Fuck. He’s hung like a fucking horse.” She fumbled with her cigarette packet, trying to pull out another smoke, and Shannon could hardly blame her.
The song continued and he dropped his hands and lifted his head. From the low moans in the room, Shannon was sure she wasn’t the only one who felt thoroughly shagged by the stranger on stage. His dark eyes locked with Shannon’s. He smiled, and she swallowed as a shiver rippled up her spine and her panties dampened. “He’s fucking magnificent. Who is he?”
Pete’s breath warmed the back of her neck. “His name’s Michael Monaghan.”

Excerpt:

Her eyes grew even wider. He could just tell from the startled roundness of her eyes she was remembering the scene at the buffet. Clearly, he’d neglected to place the forgetfulness spell on her too. She stared at her healed wrist. “Oh my God…” And then she stared at him. “How…?”

By Father Zeus, this was one of those moments he really wished he could lie. Just one, teeny white lie was all he asked.

He clenched his jaw and grasped at the best possible explanation. “Um. I’m really good at first aid. Like, the best.” He was the god of healing, after all. He’d better be good at fucking first aid!

She sat up and touched her wrist. “First aid wouldn’t have helped. It wasn’t just a little cut, Apollo. My vein was severed. I could have died.”

He bit his lip. “You were very groggy. You might have trouble remembering everything.” No lie there. “I took care of it. You’re fine.”

Patience gaped, obviously unconvinced. And then her gaze traveled down his neck and chest, stopping in the vicinity of his crotch.

As if on cue, his cock throbbed. Visibly.

She looked away quickly. Blinking furiously, she scrambled to get off the bed. “I should go.” However, she was hit by an obvious head rush that made her look even paler. “Oh dear.”

She swayed, and he gathered her against his chest, running his hand over her hair to soothe her. “Don’t move. You’re light-headed. You’re safe here. Just relax for a minute.”

She leaned against him but was stiff in his arms, apparently doing her best impression of a two-by-four.

He moved his hand under the veil of her hair, gods help him, and massaged the back of her neck until she became more pliable in his hands. He chuckled. “You have trouble relaxing, don’t you?”

She closed her eyes as he hit a pressure point in her neck, and she sighed. “I’ve never been much of a relaxer.”

“No kidding?” he teased.

Patience opened her eyes and looked at him. Her brows were still knit together in a frown, but the corners of her pink lips turned up. “Yeah. I failed R&R in school. I was too busy studying for my anal retention classes.”

He burst into laughter. Then she giggled.

And for some reason, to hear their two laughs echoing off the same walls together made him feel a bliss that was immeasurable.

Sweet Hell teaser for you!

Hi friends!

As we head into the weekend, we all need a little something sweet, don't we? I know I do.

Sweet Hell is my paranormal romance about the randy Greek god Dionysus and his beleaguered heroine, baker Josie Marino. These two can rile each other up like it's no one's business...and secretly love every minute of it.

Cannoli and coffee. Lust and wine. Loving a god can be Sweet Hell!

It was recently awarded the Two Lips Recommended Read award and a shiny 5 stars!

Read on for a little, sexy teaser...

Blurb:

Dionysus, Greek god of wine and theater, is the world’s original playboy. But lately, he has been restless, moody, and he knows something is wrong. His carefree and bacchanal lifestyle is starting to feel like one long string of meaningless, sexual escapades. Even worse, he is suddenly aroused by the idea of marriage. And to top it all off, Josie Marino, the mouthy, disheveled, and eternally annoying woman who serves him coffee at the local bakery, sets him on fire.

Josie, a Toronto baker of Italian heritage, is not looking for love or lust. Especially not with Dionysus Iros, the most aggravating, demanding customer she'd ever had to serve. With his rippling muscles and sexy, knowing eyes, he's obviously trouble with a capital T. Unfortunately, he's also the star of her every X-rated dream. She’s known players like Dionysus before, and one of them almost got the better of her. Josie determines she will not fall for his considerable physical charms, come hell or high water.

But Dionysus turns strangely protective when a sinister character arrives at Josie's bakery, and they can no longer deny their unwanted feelings for one another. They are forced to embark on a bizarre, sexually-charged journey to hell itself, which threatens to either change them for the better, or destroy them.
Excerpt:

She slowly got up on her knees and pushed him so that he was leaning back against the trunk of the willow. There were quite shaded by its massive branches. Even if there were any spirits haunting this meadow, she figured they wouldn’t be seen by them. And, quite honestly, she didn’t care anymore.

Gazing into his surprised eyes, she began to push up the hem of his gorgeous robe, growing more excited with each inch of his exposed thighs. His chest rose and fell with sharp, quick breaths in response.

“What are you doing?” he whispered.

She offered him a small smile, doing her best to look sexy. “What I’ve been wanting to do since the first time you ordered coffee from me. Since I first laid eyes on you.”

Her candid comment silenced him. His jaw shut, and he just watched her, his eyes wide with amazement and long-withheld lust. Keeping her eyes trained on his, she moved the hem right up to his waist and was gratified to see he went commando under that sexy toga.

No chance for padding there.

Nestled between his legs was the most glorious cock she’d ever seen. She’d suspected it would be big, but this was frankly insane. Almost too big, too thick. Would she even be able to wrap her mouth around it? But then it throbbed for her, and she changed her mind.

It was perfect. She couldn’t wait to taste him.

Vera Roberts...Til Tomorrow!

Hello everyone,

It is my pleasure to welcome the insightful and talented Vera Roberts to my Room today! Not only is Vera here to tell us about her sexy book Til Tomorrow, she is dishing on the benefit of erotica in a healthy relationship. There are still some who believe it is harmful, and Vera is here to set them straight.

Welcome, Vera!

Why Erotica Can Help – Not Harm – a Relationship.

I’m sure everyone has heard of the wildly popular Fifty Shades of Grey series that has exploded within the past year. The numerous parodies and commentaries that have followed since its release have also been quite popular as well.

On my personal Facebook page, I used to follow a religious group, ‘I am a Christian.’ Yes, I just mentioned my faith and Fifty Shades of Grey in the same post. Stay with me, here. Anyway, I used to follow the page until recently. Why the change?

The owners of the page thought they should let everyone know how they felt about Fifty Shades and erotica as a whole. Many women have said the book has helped them with not only their relationships and marriages, but overall about themselves and express what they wanted. The owners disagreed, saying books like Fifty Shades were just a temporary fix in a marriage and porn never solves anything.

Needless to say, I disagree.

The main issue I have with religion is it almost brainwashes a person in believing sex before marriage and masturbation are wrong, wrong, wrong. So when a person does get married, guess what? The freak wants to come out and play. And the freak wants to play in a big way.

All of a sudden, the things that were deemed bad, they kinda feel good, don’t they? Oral sex (which is considered sodomy) feels great! Masturbation is awesome!

So what does this have to do with Fifty Shades? I’m glad you asked. When someone attacks erotica and puts the enjoyment of it as some type of evil and unforgivable sin, I have an issue with it.

Religious beliefs should not dictate your sex life. Common sense and personal well-being should. You need examples? Here you go. Getting spanked? Good. Being restrained while your lover pours honey over your body and licks it? Good. Sleeping with someone else’s man? Very, very bad.

Erotica, for the most part, is very enjoyable. Porn, for the most part, is very enjoyable. The two are similar yet they’re quite different.  Let’s keep it real here. When’s the last time you’ve heard of someone committing a heinous crime because they’ve watched too much porno or they read a smoking hot erotic romance? (And before anyone uses the porn-rape analogy that has been tirelessly and erroneously used, let me point out if that argument was remotely true, the porn industry would’ve been shut down a long time ago.)

To say erotica and porn will ultimately destroy relationships just because you don’t like it, what kind of ass-backwards logic is that? These people do know there is erotica in the Bible, right?

Erotica is fun and sexy. I won’t lie and say I haven’t learned a thing or two (or three or four) from my fellow erotica/erotic romance authors. My husband and I haven’t been married very long but our sex life is pretty off the chain. What sexier way to ‘set it off’ with your lover by surprising them with someone you read in a book?

In conclusion, other people’s religious beliefs shouldn’t dictate what you should or shouldn’t enjoy behind closed doors. If no one is being harmed and there is pleasure all around, I say keep reading erotica and carry on.

Mary Wehr...A Heart's Endeavor!

Good day!

I'm so pleased to welcome my friend Mary Wehr today as she introduces her first hot book for us! Mary is a lovely lady and I am so excited about this story. And who wouldn't be? Check out the cover!

A Heart's Endeavor by Mary Wehr

There are times when it's best to allow your heart to overrule your head.

Being diagnosed with depression not only messed up Melanie Manning's life, but her marriage as well. Her husband made it very clear that he considered her "damaged goods" and he didn't have time to coddle a mentally ill wife. After his sudden death, Melanie knew she was destined to be alone. Loneliness sounded a hell of a lot better than exposing her illness to another man. Her self-esteem couldn't survive another blow.

When state trooper Jack Horan meets Melanie, the attraction is immediate. Her deep blue eyes make him weak in the knees, but those eyes also hold a hint of sadness. Jack is determined to wipe away her pain, but how can he do that when Melanie refuses to let him get close to her?

Can Melanie learn to face her fears and trust her heart in the hands of another man?

Content Warning: some strong language, spanking, and sex play with a piece of fruit wielded by a hot guy in uniform.

Excerpt:

Melanie poked her head under the table piled high with Kaiser rolls, paper plates, and plastic utensils. She swept the candy into a neat pile. There. That should be the last of them. She rested on her heels and arched her back. Geez, I'm getting too old for this.

A low hiss sounded from above and she twisted at the waist. The first thing she saw was a pair of black shoes spit-polished to a shine. Dark, charcoal gray slacks covered a pair of long legs. Her gaze continued upward and a gun came into view. Great, a state trooper. It would be her luck to meet one in this undignified position. If the poor guy had been standing there the entire time the upper half of her body was underneath the table then he sure as hell didn't get a view of her best side. Not that she had one.

Melanie recognized a flashlight and radio tucked in the utility belt hugging his lean waist. Other unfamiliar items were strapped to it too. The belt looked heavy enough to weigh a pound or more. How in the world did his pants stay in place if he had to hit the ground at a run? Her cheeks warmed. Of all the things that could've popped into her head, why did she always think of the most inane?

She purposely avoided looking at the impressive bulge peeking between his fingers. Oh, and what a bulge it was. Stop it, Mel. You're here to work and get your mind off your problems.

She tilted her head. Her heart skipped a beat. The man was gorgeous. Square jaw, firm lips, hawk-like nose, and forest green eyes framed by ridiculously long lashes mixed well with his short, black hair. A touch of gray at his temples sexed him up all the more. Powerful shoulders stretched the seams of a meticulously pressed light gray uniform shirt. The name tag pinned to the right of his broad chest read Horan. Her eyes rested on his face. Stone face. The noise she heard hadn't come from this guy.

Embarrassed to be caught in such an awkward position, and by a state trooper no less, Melanie scrambled to her feet. She hurried to the sink and washed her hands. She did her best to act the professional employee, but the pulse hammering at the base of her throat threatened to cut off her air supply. Her lips trembled and the palms of her hands grew moist with sweat.

"W-what can I get you, officer?" Way to go, now you're stuttering.

A dark brow arched, but he remained silent. She bit her bottom lip in consternation. Okay, not a talker. But how was she supposed to know what he wanted?

After a second or two had passed he said, "I'd like something hot."

Melanie blinked and her breath hitched. She wouldn't have minded being on the menu. He means food, you dolt. No way can you be considered hot. She tossed a dish towel over her shoulder and gestured toward the two crockpots on the table behind her. "Um, we have homemade chili and pulled pork barbecue, plus hoagies made to order." Her voice rose to a nervous pitch. Her first impulse was to run, but she stood there and waited for him to decide.

She shuffled her feet. Men in uniform always made her pulse leap. A leaping pulse she could deal with, but the throbbing between her legs threw her for a loop. As far as she was concerned that pulse just didn't…pulse anymore.

Nulli Para Ora...Dragon Moon!

Hi friends;

Today, I am so pleased to introduce you to my pal and wonderful writer Nulli Para Ora! Nulli is a great talent, witty and fun and I can't wait to read her upcoming romance Dragon Moon! Scroll down and try not to gasp at the beautiful cover. You will want to save this info and put her on your TBR list! In the mean time, read on for my interview with Nulli Para Ora!

Welcome, Nulli.

1) Did you always want to be an author? If not, what else would you have done?
Actually, no, my original career was in medicine, mostly research. I started writing stories last year as a hobby. I have a few friends who are published authors, and they encouraged me to consider the possibility of becoming published. I think my initial reaction was to laugh. Loudly. It took about nine months of convincing to get me to take the plunge, and I'm glad I did. I've found a career that provides an outlet for my wild imagination!
2) What is the strangest job you ever had and why?
I haven't had any strange jobs. I've had unique experiences in the past, but most of those are probably too graphic for those with a sensitive stomach. We witness a lot of strange phenomena in the medical field.
3) What is your favourite book of all time and why?
That's a really hard question to answer! This is probably unconventional, but I'll say Paradise Lost. When I read Paradise Lost, I was looking at things that I felt were familiar, but at the same time, they were radically different. It was one of the first times that I remember imagining other worlds and what it would be like to take a few familiar, but relatively misunderstood characters, and create something new. It also piqued my interest in the supernatural in ways that I hadn't thought of.
4) Describe your ideal hero or heroine (details please! *wink wink*)
My ideal hero is the classic Alpha type. Strong, protective, loyal, passionate, and able to communicate effectively. He's far from perfect, but his heart and head are always in the right place. I like my heroes to be tall with toned physiques, they don't need to be bodybuilder-sized, but I like it when they're in shape. A hero needs to have mastered himself, meaning, he knows his strengths and weaknesses. He can be confident, and even a little cocky, but he would never put his pride above taking care of those he cares for. Finally, my ideal hero would live by certain rules when it comes to the more libidinous areas of the relationship.
1. Look - pay attention to reactions or guiding gestures
2. Listen-if she doesn't like something, stop, if she wants more, give her more
3. Learn-pick up on the things that make her unique and respond to them
4. Experiment-don't be afraid to try something new
5. Ladies first-good guys always finish last
5) If you could share a romantic evening with any character from romance literature (any genre), who would it be and what would you do to him/her (ahem! With him/her)?
My word, is it warm in here?
I'm going to go with Malak, from The Summoning by Tatiana Caldwell. How she made an invisible entity that sexy is beyond me, but she did it! *fans my face* What would I do with him? I'd probably write a small book here if I started down that road!
6) What comes first for you: plot or character?
For me, it's always the plot. I put a generic person in as a placeholder while I develop the highs and lows of the story. By the time I've figured out a couple of the major points, the main characters have started taking shape in my head.
7) Who is, hands down, the sexiest actor of all time?
Of all time?! You're killing me, Rosanna!
I don't know if I can pick just one, so I'll try to pick a few from around the world.
Takeshi Kaneshiro- Japan
Aaron Kwok -China
Daniel Henny- Korea
Shahid Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh - India
David Agbodji- Africa
Eduardo Verastigui and Jesus Luz - Mexico
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Joe Manganiello, Michael Fasbender - America (U.S.A.)
Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, Jude Law - UK
Hugh Jackman- Australia
8) Describe your writing style please.
I'd say I'm a descriptive writer. I try to immerse the reader into my world, but I don't "furnish" the entire space. I like to leave room for the reader to fill things in with their own ideas of how the details look and feel. For instance, if I was describing a jar in a scene, I'd say something like:
Terri's eyes moved to the rays of sunlight as they filtered through the stained glass panels of a sun catcher. A few inches below the suspended work of art, was a glass jar. A smile spread her lips as she recalled the first time she caught a lightning bug in the container. Two steps brought her close enough to reach out and pick it up, and she tuned it in the light, noticing the slight, warbled imperfections in the glass. To the passerby, it was just an old jar, but for her, it was the holder of cherished memories of summer fields, sticky jellies, sour pickles, and the temporary home of "rescued" creatures.
In that example, I talk about the jar, but the reader will decide if the glass is clear or colored. They will associate a size to it, be it large or small. Sometimes it's what we don't say that has the biggest impact.
9) Who is your favourite author and why?
10) What is on the horizon for you? Any interesting news or books we should know about?
My first release, Dragon Moon will be available on December 17th. Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYZALUJ5Egs&feature=plcp

Dragon Moon is the first book I ever wrote, and I love these characters! Expect a lot of twists and turns.

And my historic romance Initiate now has a release date of February 25, 2013!

Dragon Moon blurb:

Join us as we talk romance, erotica, men, publishing and everything in between. We'll have guest bloggers from the romance world, and lots of fun surprises along the way!

Dec. 1 is our launch date, and we're doing a huge giveaway of prizes, including many of our books. So make sure you visit Love, Lust and Laptops and each of our blogs. Leave a comment for us. You could be a winner!
