Midnight Kiss Giveaway Hop!

Well, it's almost new year's and that means another year of sexiness! And hopefully a sweet, or raunchy, kiss to go with it. I'd like to thank our lovely hostesses, the Gemini Girls Sofia and Allyson. May the new year bring you ladies some extraordinary kisses as well.

This hop is all about kisses...well, about awesome giveaways too, but kisses primarily. Please make sure to visit all stops on the hop at www.geminigirls.com/hop in order to qualify for the grand prize of a $25 book voucher from Liquid Silver Books, my amazing publisher, and that of so many authors here.

In addition, I'll be doing my own giveaway...a choice of any book from my backlist! A great opportunity to stock up on book boyfriends you may have missed. Perhaps you'd like one of my shifters, selkies or a Greek god to keep you company? If you're not familiar with my books, read on for info on Predator's Serenade, my latest, or check out my backlist here on my blog.

Do I have a favorite kiss? You betcha. Yes, I could mention a favorite movie star or moment from a book, but I have to say my favorite kiss was from my husband, right as our relationship started to get hot and heavy. We were in our early 20's and had been dating for about six months. Neither of us had mentioned those 3 little words yet, but somehow we were both headed in that direction. On our six-month anniversary, we had a date and afterward both shyly reached for each other. Almost spontaneously, we said the words: "I love you." Because we thought of it at the same time, it meant so much. The kisses that followed we memorable, to say the least.

We've had about 20 years of kisses ever since and I've been thankful for each, sexy one.

There are some amazing kisses in Predator's Serenade, book 2 of my Gemini Island Shifters series.

Blurb:

There are three things that make bear shifter Soren Snow’s skin crawl: mothers, their children, and the great outdoors. Soren is a famed musician and playboy, and he would rather spend his days pressing the flesh with the women in his fan club than developing meaningful relationships. When his brother calls in a favor, forcing Soren to revisit the Ursa Fishing Lodge in Northern Ontario, he couldn’t be more displeased. However, he owes his brother big time.

Gioia Clementine would rather not meet Soren, her drummer son’s rock idol. But when tragedy strikes her home, it seems the only one the boy might respond to is Soren. Gioia begrudgingly agrees to let her son meet him, hoping the rock star won’t turn her tween into a musical misogynist.

When Gioia and Soren meet, the sexual chemistry threatens to set the Ontario woodland ablaze. Can these two opposites find a common ground? And can they manage to resolve their unwanted feelings, even when a mysterious stranger arrives at the lodge, threatening everything?

Excerpt:

Gioia followed Soren's approach with a curious eye. She'd wondered if the miracle kisser would beat a hasty retreat after witnessing her boy fall to pieces, and yet here he was. He wore the same famished look he had right before he'd ruined her for any other man's kiss. And she felt it too. The tingles between her shoulder blade, the gelatin knees, and trembling lips that wanted to gobble him up.
She couldn't. She didn't want to saddle him with such a wreck of a woman or family.
He came right up to her, so close, as if making a mockery of the space that sought to separate them. Weaving his fingers through her hair, he cradled her skull and pulled her close. Tucking her head against his chest, he kissed the top of her head, blazing a trail of hot reaction down her spine. He had new clothes on and smelled fresh and clean. As she breathed him in, he rained soft kisses all over her head.
He knows.
She pulled away, suddenly terrified he'd think she was a travesty of a mother. It's what anyone would think in his case. They'd wonder what Gioia had done wrong to create a monster child. But as she attempted to remove herself from his grasp, Soren fought her by holding her still. Again she tried jerking away from his wall of a chest. He held her firm.
When she tried two more times, each time unsuccessfully, he looked at her and shouted, "Dammit, woman, I am not letting you go, so you can stop pulling away from me!"
Something in Gioia broke. She'd been carrying her sadness around for so long, trying to be strong, and Soren was offering to be strong for her. For just a moment, maybe she could surrender. God only knew how badly she wanted to give herself to the bear man.
He grabbed her tighter, and his hands slid down to mold over her ass cheeks. His warm breath was all over her face, and she took a dizzying dive into the seas of his eyes. He ground her against him, and she was forced to stand on tip toes.
"Gioia," he whispered.
She wound her arms about his tense neck, felt him tense further. Then … a sigh somewhere in his big frame and a relaxation in his muscles. As if he needed to have her wound about him. As if it soothed him as much as her.
"Soren. Please."
As he kissed her, he picked her up, his hands under her bottom. Her miniskirt rode up, and she spared a second to mentally curse her decision to wear it. And then she didn't care.

Kissing her madly, Soren spirited her into the woods.

About the Author

I started my love affair with vampires as a kid by reading Bram Stoker’s Dracula. It was the only vampire book our little local library branch had back then. Then, I discovered mail order books and fell in love with the tortured characters in Interview with a Vampire.  In the mid 80’s, the most amazing thing happened! My family bought a VCR, and I was finally able to see movies! All the vampire flicks I could beg for flickered across the screen, making the love affair into a passionate, lifelong relationship. Today, I write fantasy and paranormal romance and never pass up a chance to pair up vampires with the less-than-usual characters. Witches and elves currently top my list. I love weaving vampires into legends and myths where none exist. It’s my private world of the erotic, weird, and wonderful, and I invite every reader to go along for the ride.

EXCERPT

She felt a familiar hand slip over her shoulder, pushing off her tattered top and exposing her skin. Kisses dropped along the back of her neck from one side to another. Fangs lightly grazed her carotid artery, sending shivers up her spine.

She unbuttoned her suit top and let it fall away, leaving her exposed to the man behind her. Topless, she wanted to feel hands on her flesh, touching and caressing her. Her nipples stiffened into rosy peaks. They ached with need. She reached up and rolled the pebbled flesh between her thumb and forefinger. She gave a satisfied sigh.

His fangs grazed her neck as his hands ran the length of her sides, pausing at her hips. A bead of blood welled up on her skin and ran down between her breasts. Strong hands wrapped around her, smearing the thin trickle over her stomach. Deft fingers made short work of her pants buttons and pushed the fabric over her hips. The pants pooled at her feet.

She kicked the pile of cloth out of her way. They disappeared into the silvery mist surrounding them. No walls or ceiling gave a hint as to where they might be. No sound except the ones they made broke the silence. Only their singular heartbeat, their sighs, their breathing echoed in the silvery mist. This was their private world. Nothing and no one else mattered.

Flashes of memory came. A dimly lit parking garage. A basement living room. A tiled shower below ground. A white porcelain tub. A richly decorated room. A bed of orchids in a greenhouse. This time the memories washed through her mind without pain. Although his face was never clear in the memories, she knew this man intimately. She turned around to face him.

Still down on his knees from removing her pants, he leaned in and pressed his face against her belly. Strong hands grasped her ass. Kisses trailed down to her clit. His tongue darted out, teasing her before lapping at her slit. She felt a rumble in his throat vibrate on her skin, but almost no sound made it to her ears.

Wetness trickled from her pussy. She opened her legs a little more, increasing his access to her nectar. Fingers slipped inside her as his tongue worked her sensitive clit. Pleasure rippled its way through her body. Clenching and quivering, she thought she might come at any moment. She ran her fingers through his hair and held his head to her. As his fingers danced across her G-spot in perfect rhythm with his tongue, she cried out. The sensation was unbearably good, almost painfully good. The steady rhythm pushed her to the crescendo. Her orgasm crashed over her and reverberated down to her soul.

This man was more than her lover. He made up the missing piece she searched for, longed for, needed. With him came the air and the light, the moon and the stars. He and their love created her world. Nothing he asked for could ever be too much. Nothing she gave him would be enough. He was more than a puzzle piece in her life. He was her life, and she was his. Tied together by magic and fate, this man held more value than all the treasures of the world.

He stood up, extending to his full six feet, and looked down on her five foot six inches. Silver-gray eyes watched her. A fanged smile flashed, but no spoken words came.

Returning the favor, she dropped to her knees. His cock hung stiff and ready for her. She guided the fleshy rod between her fangs and wrapped her lips around him. Pausing for a moment, she enjoyed the feel of him on her tongue and in her mouth. Slipping further down his shaft, she swirled her tongue back and forth the length of him. Rolling his balls gently in one hand, she began carefully bobbing up and down on his cock. Sucking and teasing the head with her tongue before taking him back into her mouth made him groan. She played with him until she thought she might explode with need.

The taste of his pre-cum elicited a whimper from her. She wanted more. Her speed quickened in her need to taste the tang of his juices. Deeper and faster she stroked his cock to the point of nearly throating him.

His cock throbbed against her tongue. The mushroom-shaped tip brushed the back of her throat, painting it with his sticky pre-cum. His body stiffened in anticipation. The throbbing turned to spasms as he filled her mouth with his creamy orgasm. Tossing his head back, he seemed to cry out soundlessly. He held her head still between his hands as he gave one last spurt of creamy goodness.

She swallowed every drop before sitting back on her heels, allowing him to slip from between her lips. A sense of satisfaction and fulfillment flooded her. Being with this man felt perfect. The rest of the world could fall apart and as long as they were together, nothing else would matter.

Kneeling down to face her, he kissed her tenderly on the lips. Placing one hand behind her head, he rocked gently forward and laid her back in the silvery mist. He took one nipple in his mouth while cupping the other breast. Teeth and tongue teased and toyed with the tight peak.

She wanted to tell him how good it felt to have him pressed against her, but the words refused to come out. The only response she gave was a satisfied sigh. Parting her legs allowed him to slip between them. Her dewy juices ran along the soft folds of her pussy. She felt his cock stiffen once more.

Cherie Nicholls...A To Zane!

I'm so excited to have my pal Cherie Nicholls here today to promote her hot new book A To Zane! Cherie always writes hot shifters, and I know we all like those, so make sure this one gets onto your TBR list!

It is available at http://www.lsbooks.com/a-to-zane-p861.php

Blurb

When Zane spots Abby, his tiger demands he stop everything and pursue. Zane couldn't agree more. Kickass she may be, but he knows just how to handle prickly women in denial of their own sexuality.

Abby has enough to do dealing with her overprotective family and friends. It’s practically a full-time job just keeping them out of jail. She really doesn't need a sexy tiger shifter throwing her libido into overdrive.

She has a business to run, and no matter how pretty the kitty is, she has more important things to deal with.

However, when her past catches up with her, the kitty may just prove to be her salvation. Damn it!

Excerpt

Chapter 1

If this was any other place, Zane would have found a dark corner to sit in with his back against the wall watching everyone and everything in the room. A carryover from his days in the service, but one he couldn’t break, not that he’d tried very hard.

He cast a cautious glance at the corners again. His perch at the end of the bar, more open than he was used to with only one wall to his left, made his fur tingle. But the shadows and corners were off limits to him this evening. In a club like this, he was safer out in the open. Zane snorted. Safer? When had he become such a prude? His buddies would die laughing at him right now. One friend was standing behind the bar grinning like a cat. Ironic seeing as he was a wolf shifter. Jones had more tattoos than the last time Zane’d seen him. The wolf was larger than most, almost as tall as Zane, which seemed to give him more room for ink.

“It’s killing you, ain’t it?” Even Jones’ voice held a grin.

“Remind me to punch you in the face later.”

Jones laughed and went to serve a customer. There was a strong two drink minimum policy here, or so Zane had been told when he’d arrived. That rule was only for those not “playing” tonight. Anyone partaking of the delicacies offered was allowed soft drinks or water only.

Zane looked down at the soda in his hands and shook his head. Trust Carter Jones to invite him to a place like this.

Newly mated Carter, Jones to his friends, got in touch and invited Zane to swing past when he was next in town. It wasn’t to Jones’ pack house in Hillside he’d been invited to but a town about thirty miles away. Although the mutt conveniently forgot to mention his new mate was also his Domme and the owner of a BDSM club.

“So, Mr. Anderson, how are you enjoying your night?”

Zane looked down at Rhea, dressed in a pair of tight leather pants and corset. She was cute, he would admit it, but he wasn’t really one to kneel down to others.

“Please, call me Zane. Your place is nice. Can’t say I have much experience in others but can’t complain.”

“Aww, did I just burst your cherry, Zane?”

He smiled at her. She suited Jones down to a tee. “You could say that.”

“Oh good. I do love de-flowering virgins.” She winked before heading back out onto the floor.

Zane sat with his back against the wall, watching the room with half an eye. People in different levels of undress were all around. A couple of females with white ribbons on their arms caught his attention.

“Jones, what’s with the white ribbons?” he asked when his friend came within earshot again.

“It means they are free, not tied to any one Dom. They’re open to play dates that’ll last this evening and no longer.”

“Wow, no-strings-attached sex.”

“Yep, pretty much. Of course, there are rules, and if I thought you were really interested I’d go through them, but I know you too well, my friend.” Carter placed another soda in front of him and nodded toward the stage. “That’s my girl up there.”

Zane turned and saw Rhea on stage with a whip in her hand. She swung it with a skill he admired and made a mental note not to let her near him with it.

“Hey, Abby doll.”

“Hey Jones, I come bearing stuff from Wall. He says to tell you this bag has all the clothes you asked for and that he totally smashed your score on the video game that shall, and I quote, ‘forever be called Wall’s domain’.”

The voice drew Zane’s attention like a moth to a flame. He couldn’t not look.

Standing about three feet to his right was a woman with long brown hair, dark loose trousers and a black long sleeve T-shirt on. In a place like this, she stood out like a sore thumb.

“Let him bask in his glory. I’ll be home soon, and then his little party will be over.”

Zane sniffed the air, full human. How was she part of Jones’ pack?

“Whatever. I came, I saw, I delivered as requested. Now I’m heading home.” She turned, the move brushing some of the hair away from her face, giving Zane a glimpse of beauty that made his tiger sit up and pay attention.

“Well now, little girl, who said you could wear shoes in my place?” Abby’s exit was stalled as she came face to face with Rhea.

“Err, I didn’t know. I’m not staying.”

Rhea took a step toward her, forcing Abby to back up until she was pressed against the bar right next to him.

“I asked you a question, little girl. I expect an answer.”

Zane flicked a look at Jones, who was silently laughing.

“I’m not a member here… I just came to give Jones some of his stuff… I’m not staying so didn’t think … I had to take my shoes off,” Abby stammered.

Zane watched as Rhea leaned in closer. It looked as if Abby was trying to press her way through the solid bar.

“Then I guess it’s a good thing you’re part of my pack then, isn’t it, Abby doll?” Rhea hugged Abby close, then stepped back. “Damn, Abby, sometimes you are too easy. How many times have I told you? Stand up for yourself, and for the love of God, stop hiding behind these awful clothes.” Rhea tugged at Abby’s shirt.

“Rhea! You’re mean, and you know it.” Abby blew out a shaky breath but visibly relaxed.

“Abby doll, you fall for it every time.” Jones reached over and rubbed the top of Abby’s head, messing up her hair. “Here, let me introduce you to a friend of mine. Abby, this is Zane Anderson, an old friend. Zane, this is Abby Short.”

The shy smile she gave him had him wanting to wrap her in Bubble Wrap and keep her safe.

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Anderson.” Abby held out a hand, and Zane felt like a giant as his hand engulfed hers. His nearly six feet eight inches made him tall, and although she was of average height, Abby looked so small standing there.

“Please call me Zane.”

“Abby is Laney’s cousin,” Jones explained. Zane met the tiny little nutcase on a visit the year before. It explained why Abby was considered pack, and why they felt comfortable teasing her.

“Yep, cousin of Laney, that’s me. Although don’t worry, I won’t threaten you like she does,” Abby assured him.

“If I remember rightly, she promised to make me into a throw rug for something. Can’t be sure exactly what it was, but I do remember the threat.” He was aware of Abby discreetly trying to pull her hand free of his grip, but he wasn’t ready to let go just yet.

“Should I apologize?”

“No, I probably deserved it.”

“Okay, well I have to go. It was nice to meet you.” This time her tug was more forceful.

Zane let her go and watched as the little mouse ran for the door. When he turned back to Jones, both he and Rhea were standing there watching him.

“What?”

“Two things. Laney will have your balls if you mess with her cousin,” Jones said.

“And don’t let the little shy girl thing fool you. Laney might have the crazy gene, and I say that with serious love and affection for my alpha. But Abby doesn’t need to worry about that. She has connections that make Laney look super sweet,” Rhea added.

“Is that right?”

“Yes, it is. So Laney might have your balls if you mess with her, but Abby’s other friends, well they’ll do so much worse.”

Zane gave them a half smile. “I do like a challenge.”

Sofia Grey...A Handful of Wolf!

It is my great pleasure to welcome my pal Sofia Grey to the blog again. Sofia has a wonderful new wolfie book and I can't wait to hear more about this one.

A Welsh Wolf in Wellington blog tour

Waterfront

Since most of Sasha’s story takes place in Wellington, the compact and thriving capital city of New Zealand. I though it would be fun to feature a different part of the city – especially those mentioned in the book – on each tour ‘stop’. Come and join me on a truly unique virtual tour of Wellington J

The Waterfront is the section of the city that opens onto Wellington Harbour. Studded with glossy bars and restaurants, it’s the focus of the upmarket side of Wellington’s nightlife. It’s also an incredibly busy area at lunchtime, with harassed office workers seeking fresh air, a sandwich and coffee. Wellington is famous for it’s excellent coffee, by the way.

It’s common to see joggers running along here, skateboarders and rollerbladers, and a colourful flotilla of kayaks on the water, on a calm day. In the summer, it’s also home to an iconic one-day music festival – HomeGrown – featuring the best of Kiwi music. I’ve been twice and plan to go again next year J

While shifters rarely take regular office-based jobs (too restrictive), the city shifters have to adapt to the working environment and most of them prefer outdoor work. There’s a large number that take bar and café work. Every time I’m served coffee by a bright-blue-eyed barista, I ask myself, are they a shifter?

~

In this extract, Sasha sees Megan as she walks along the Waterfront:

Something tugged at Sasha’s senses and his wolf lifted his head, intent and focused. A scent he recognized. He opened his mouth slightly and inhaled, the wolf very much in control. Caramel and spice. The girl with the scarf.

“Yeah, will do.” He finished the call, shoved his phone into a pocket and turned around. There she was. The brunette stood a short distance away on the edge of a car park and he feasted his eyes on her. Business clothes had been replaced with a short stretchy black skirt that hugged her curves and a shiny, gleaming top that begged to be touched. Dark hair tumbled down her back, a few strands falling onto her face and she brushed them back with one elegant hand. Her scent called to him and his wolf whined, needing to get closer.

He took a step toward her. He’d apologize for taking advantage earlier, offer to buy her a drink. Maybe try another kiss later when she’d forgiven him. He still had plenty of time for the Pack business, and a little fun first would satisfy his wolf. Confident, he took another step, but then stopped.

She was with someone. A guy. Sasha’s wolf growled when the guy held out his hand to her, and then quieted again when she refused. This was stupid. He didn’t even know her. One kiss was all they shared. Yeah, and what a kiss. She was a gorgeous, hard-assed girl and it stood to reason she’d have a boyfriend. All the same, for whatever reason, she didn’t want to hold the guy’s hand and that was enough of an excuse for Sasha to look out for her. When the couple walked into a waterfront restaurant, he followed.

~

A Handful Of Wolf  is available 25 November 2013, from Liquid Silver Books.

Sasha's not a looking-to-the-future kind of guy, but he's made an exception with his plans to travel and meet lots of pretty girls. Too bad his Pack Alpha, fate, and reality have other ideas about his trip abroad. He's pretty sure he didn't sign on to be a diplomat for the Snowdonia Wolf Pack. Or to find a Mate. Especially not a human Mate.

Megan knows better than to let a sweet-talking charmer get under her skin, but Sasha's sexy playfulness is making her forget all her rules. Except one: she's not willing to risk her heart by falling in love. The gorgeous boy from Wales can only be a fling, especially since her over-protective brothers hate him on sight.

In the midst of a wolf uprising, a hesitant Mate, and Megan’s complicated family ties, Sasha learns that sometimes impulsiveness is dangerous and even lethal. Can he show Megan why they belong together before it all comes crashing down around him and he loses his Mate forever?
