D'Ann Lindun...Desert Heat!

Good morning!

Today I am really pleased to host the wonderful D'Ann Lindun on my Room. This talented author of contemporary westerns has something new to tell us about today, and I for one can't wait to hear more!  However, first I must give D'Ann the third degree...uh, I mean, ask some hard-hitting questions! And it's a good things I did, or we never would have known that D'Ann...well, I spoil the secret. Read on!

Welcome D'Ann!

1) Did you always want to be an author?
If not, what else would you have done? No, when I was in high school, I wanted to be a journalist. Or a fashion photographer.

2) What is the strangest job you ever had and why?
I actually haven’t had that many jobs. Growing up, I worked for my parents guiding dudes (greenhorns, not guys) out of our 100 year old livery stable. I hated it. There is not a more patient animal alive than a dude horse.

3) Describe your ideal hero or heroine (details please! *wink wink*)
Tall, dark hair and eyes. Big hands. Sexy smile. Funny. Kind to animals. Looks good in Levis.

4) What comes first for you: plot or character?
Characters come to me in fully formed scenes. I build a plot around that.

5) Who is, hands down, the sexiest actor of all time?
OM gosh. I don’t know. I like Mark Walberg a lot. I like the old fashioned sexy of Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart. Classy men. At least on screen.

6) Describe your writing style please.
My brand is contemporary western suspense. I think that sums it up pretty well.

7) Who is your favourite author and why?
Anne Stuart. I love her dark heroes. I’m a big fan of Kat Martin.

8) What is on the horizon for you?
Any interesting news or books we should know about? I have a release from Crimson Romance, Desert Heat, due out on the 22nd.
Bio:
Falling in love with romance novels the summer before sixth grade, D’Ann Lindun never thought about writing one until many years later when she took a how-to class at her local college. She was hooked! She began writing and never looked back. Romance appeals to her because there's just something so satisfying about writing a book guaranteed to have a happy ending. D’Ann’s particular favorites usually feature cowboys and the women who love them. This is probably because she draws inspiration from the area where she lives, Western Colorado, her husband of twenty-nine years and their daughter. Composites of their small farm, herd of horses, five Australian shepherds, a Queensland heeler, eight ducks and cats of every shape and color often show up in her stories!

  4. I haven't read this book yet, but I'm guessing there'll be some hot cowboy action, D'Ann's nonintrusive instructions on humane animal care, and sizzling love scenes. Best wishes on your latest release! And great job interviewing, Rosanna.
