BOOK BLURB

~Bailey Cooper has fallen in love - sadly the man she’s in love with already has a man. Or so she thinks. Sounds complicated doesn’t it? ~
Bailey Cooper is very much attracted to her neighbor Max Davis. Unfortunately for Bailey, Greg – Max’s lover is slowly becoming one of Bailey’s best friends. Bailey’s emotions are torn. She adores Greg’s friendship while at the same time she craves Max’s touch. What is a girl to do when she ‘thinks’ the man she's in love with is in love with someone else? Max Davis and his baby brother Greg Davis are co-owners of the apartment building they live in. Max has fallen for his tenant, Bailey, but she avoids and ignores all of his advances. It doesn’t take long for him to become suspicious of the friendship blooming between Greg and Bailey. He believes Bailey has a crush on his brother but Max wants his shy little neighbor all to himself. Now he has to think of ways to keep Bailey and Greg apart, which is ridiculous because Greg isn't even in to women. Time to break that news to his neighbor and hope it causes her attention to swing his way. Will a holiday weekend full of chaos, confusion and a little bit of charm finally get Bailey and Max on the right track? Or will a few innocent caresses lead to more Christmas confusion?

BOOK EXCERPT

Max scooted back on the couch, he reached toward Bailey, eyes straying to her legs. Even though she wore jeans, he still pictured her legs bare, like they were when she jumped on his counter. Her eyes widened as his hand came closer and closer. Max leaned forward, stretching his arm even closer to her body, he ached to touch her. His fingertips itched for a chance to slide down her body. As he moved closer, he heard her inhale deeply and he couldn’t escape the erotic images that flowed through his mind. Oh, the sounds I could cause her to make, if she would give me the chance. Max continued edging forward, until his fingers wrapped around what he was reaching for. He picked the remote control up and moved back to his side of the couch. His hand shook slightly. Bailey exhaled. The sound sent chills over his body. Max pointed the remote at the television and pressed play. He cleared his throat. “Do you want to start from the beginning or do you want me to find the last scene you watched?” Max waited on her to answer but all he heard was the sound of her breathing. He kept his eyes straight forward, fearing the sight of her chest rising and falling would be his downfall. She took so long to answer that he forgot what his question was. “Whatever you want,” she whispered, and his gut clenched. Max pressed pause. What was his question? For the life of him, he couldn’t remember what he’d asked her. But her answer ‘whatever you want’ was the answer he craved. A thousand questions raced through his head, ‘Bailey, what do you want me to do to you with my tongue?’ Her answer of ‘whatever you want’ would be perfect for that question. ‘Bailey, what do you want me to do to you with my hands?’ Whatever you want would be the perfect answer to that question. But none of those were the question she was answering. What had he asked her? “Or we could just watch television,” she said. “We don’t have to watch the movie, I know it’s a chick flick and you may not like it.” Oh yeah, the movie. “No, no, we can watch the movie.” Get it together, Max. “Okay,” Bailey smiled and snuggled further into the comforter. His comforter, the one he would sleep under later on tonight. The comforter that would have her sweet scent on it until he decided to wash it, if he decided to wash it. Get it together, now, Max. Max cleared his throat again. He felt like his t-shirt was getting tighter, choking him. Max found it hard to swallow. “We can just watch it from the beginning. How long is this movie anyway?” he asked her. “It’s a short movie, about an hour long.” He would have an hour in her company, an hour with her sitting within arms-reach of him, an hour of sweet torture. He would enjoy every minute of it.

Revenge is a dish best served cold… while wearing heels. April has just learned the real reason behind her boss’ impromptu dinner invitation. He only invited her to dinner with his colleagues to prove a point: that he can show up at an event with a plain Jane and still be considered ‘the man’. She expected better from him and had secretly hoped that one day their friendship would grow into something deeper. Now she knows she will always just be his ‘nerdy secretary’ to him. But her two best friends won’t let her wallow in her pain. They convince her to give Dr. Stewart a dose of his own medicine. The plan: show up at the dinner looking irresistible and prove to her boss that even nerd girls can be sexy. But first she has to replace her unattractive business suits with something sexier and more revealing. It’s time for a makeover. Dr. Chad Stewart would never ‘really’ date his secretary. She was too good, to pure for someone as jaded as himself. It didn’t matter that he was half in love with her. But when he needed an ‘average date’ for a dinner party she was the first person he turned to. He thought his secretary was the perfect choice until he arrived to find her looking like his wildest fantasy. But now she knows the real reason for his invite and he can see in her eyes how hurt she is. Can Chad convince her to forgive him for hurting her or will she walk out of his life… taking his heart with her?

Check out part of the truth or dare scene from Christmas Confusion:

Greg explained the rules to the truth or dare newbies.
“First of all,” Greg said in his serious voice.
He looked so ridiculously serious that Krista and Bailey burst out laughing. The three of them were already slightly tipsy from the shot they took earlier.
“If you girls are not gonna take this seriously, then I’m not gonna play with you,” Greg pouted.
“Okay, we’re ready,” Krista said, and all Bailey did was giggle. She wasn’t a heavy drinker and that one shot had her buzzed.
“Okay,” Greg continued. “The rules are simple. You can either choose truth or dare, but you can’t choose one or the other three times in a row. For instance, Bailey…”
“Hey,” Bailey said. “Why are you picking on me? What have I done now?”
“Nothing yet. But I got a feeling you are going to try to choose truth every time it’s your turn.”
“I got that same feeling,” Krista said before blowing a strand of her black curly hair out of her face.
“I’m not going to choose truth every time,” Bailey told them, even though that had been her initial plan.
Both Krista and Greg looked at her like they didn’t believe her.
“I’m going to keep my eyes on you Bailey.” Greg said. “My spidey senses are tingling and when they do that during truth or dare it means someone is going to cheat.”
“He said tingling,” Krista giggled.
“Whatever.” Bailey rolled her eyes. “Okay, so we can’t choose one or the other more than two times.”
“That’s right, Bailey. Now, if you choose truth, and refuse to answer the question, you have to take a shot.”
Bailey groaned. Were all of these rules created for her?
“And,” Greg continued, “If you do tell a truth but we feel it’s a lie, you have to take a shot.”
“Did you guys make up these rules with me in mind?” Bailey asked.
“I didn’t,” Krista responded. “These are Greg’s rules and I like them. Okay, so who goes first?”
“I’ll go first,” Greg volunteered. Bailey was glad he was going first. She was sure they were going to make her go first.
“So, truth or dare?” Krista asked Greg.
“Truth,” Greg responded.
Krista turned to her. “Do you want to ask him a question or should I?” Bailey had no idea why she was nervous, it was just a game.
“You ask,” she told Krista.
Krista stared at Greg seated across the table from them “So Greg, how long have you been into men?”
Bailey gasped, “Krista!”
“What?” Krista exclaimed as if nothing was wrong. Bailey knew she was blushing enough for the two of them.
“Calm down, Bailey,” Greg said. “That is the perfect way to start off truth or dare. Now the answer is… drum roll, please.”
Krista began beating her hands against the table.
